I'm in Woodstock, with only a few minutes to update.
It took Carly and I 16 hours from departure to arrival in Albany. We had an unplanned layover that resulted in 5 1/2 hours stuck in Chicago, and then another hour before they allowed us to take off, after boarding the plane.
We got here hot, sweaty, and humid.
I can't describe where we are staying. The house is an old grist mill, converted to a dwelling in the 1920's. The town Historian says the Mill was functioning by 1780. How crazy is that? The two houses are right next to each other, old and beautiful. Stella (Jesse's gramma) lives in a house that used to be an old sawmill. There is a creek in the back with a waterfall and a rope swing, where we swim when there isn't thunder and lightening. There is a storm rolling in right now, beautiful thunder and lightening storm, and everything is muggy and sticky. I am in heaven.
We walked around the town of Woodstock today, oohing and ahhing at the local crafts. I, unfortunately, am a little ill, so I'm hoping that with the medicine my dear friends picked up from my husband at home, I'll be okay.
I can't be on long, but I promise a full update when I arrive home. I am thinking of you, and for now, just know you're in my thoughts, all of you back in the Ham!
hasta!
