So much happened in the last week, I don't even know where to start!
Let's see, we'll go from Tuesday on:
Tuesday:
After working a full day, get off at 2 and come home to do research on cars to purchase. Find a PT Cruiser I really want. Call my bank. Talk to my loan officer, who tells me I am approved for the full purchase price of the PT Cruiser in question. Pick John up from work at 6:30. Drive almost 2 hours to Burien to see said PT. Fill out purchase order for car to get check from bank the next day. Make arrangements with loan officer and John's work to sign paperwork in the middle of the day on Wednesday. Get home at 11:45 and crash out.
Wednesday:
Go to sign paperwork in middle of day to get check and buy car. Loan Officer is on lunch, hands us off to another very polite woman. Very polite woman takes a look at our purchase order and says "This mileage is incorrect, it's not what Reid entered when we gave you the quote. With this mileage, the car is worth over $2000 less, which means we can only finance 90% of the NADA value and you'll have to come up with $1100 to cover the rest" We walk out on the deal, fuming. We both go to work, out time and money and John is out a paid hour of vacation. At work, I close for last time for a while. Much rejoicing. Sold first piece on Etsy late that night. Much more rejoicing. Off to Usice Irish Pub for actual rejoicing. Meet up with Court and Max. Tandem rejoicing. Off to Shoe for Cheese Fry rejoicing. Go home and crash out, rejoicing overloaded.
Thursday:
Wake up feeling sick from too much rejoicing on Wednesday. Take Dexter to the Vet and find out he has Dermodex, a skin mite that preys on puppies with weak immune systems. $100 later, come home with itchy Dexter, a $13 8 oz bottle of medicated shampoo, and a regimen for healing him that includes bathing him 3 times a week. Work a full day. Plans with Teri that night. Lovely mead, lovely cheese, lovely company and conversation. Come home to find that John didn't lock Dexter in his kennel for the 3 hours we were gone. House thrashed, a book from childhood completely eaten, Dexter's mouth actually CEMENTED SHUT due to the amount of glue and kitty litter he ate. John and I hold Dex down and scoop book paste and cardboard and kitty litter from his mouth so he can actually do things like chew and drink water again. John and I order food and watch a movie and spend the whole night together, which we haven't done in almost a month.
Friday:
John finds a car he wants. I tell him if he does the legwork and talks to Reid and the dealership, I'll go look at it. John does all of the above. We drive to Marysville to look at the car. It is beautiful, and John can't wait to have it. We drive back to Bellingham to sign papers and pick up a check for the dealer. We drive back to Marysville to get the car. John lets me drive it home. I dive the whole way to Bellingham with the sunroof open, blasting Deathcab for Cutie and Jimmy Eat World. John and I now own a 2000 VW Jetta with leather seats and power everything and a 6 disc CD changer in the trunk. Go to Teri's for surprise B-Day party for Drennan. All goes well, although I feel a bit subdued and irritated at several situations. I enjoy watching my friends interact and sit back quietly, taking it all in. Drennan seemed really happy and touched, and that was important to me. John shows off our car. Several times. Come home to huge fight with sis. Don't wanna talk about it.
Saturday:
Work a full day. Spend time with Kat after work, who is up visiting for Jesse's sister's graduation from Western. Eventually drag Kat and Jesse, Nerissa and Ian off to Bayou on Bay for delicious Cajun food. Eat ourselves into a food coma. Come home and work on re-stitching wallet snaps for extra durability. (I am very very slow at hand stitching and don't do it that often.) Spend the rest of the night with John, watching him play video games.
Sunday:
Drive to Anacortes to see Chase and Trish and Amanda. Upon arriving, hear Manda has a new car! John can't wait to see it, and spends roughly a quarter of the rest of our visit asking when Manda will be home so he can see her new wheels. Of course, he wants to show his off, too. Get in a huge fight with my family as everything blows up and spend most of the rest of the day fighting off hysteria and the urge to kill anyone actually related to me. Call several people to get help calming down. Eventually drink some red wine and go to get ice cream with Trish and John. Leave for home. Turn around about 5 minutes out when Manda calls us and says she's close to home and wants to show us her car! Everyone ooh's and ahh's at the new vehicles. Finally make it home. I finally finish all the snaps and handwork and sew something extra to send along with the purchase to compensate for the delay.
Today:
Mostly uneventful. I worked a full day, and then after work I went to my first Bikram Yoga class. I did the full 90 minutes. After I got done, I felt good, but during, I fought off nausea and worked so hard I almost cried. That's probably the hardest workout I've ever done. I will be going back tomorrow, and every day of my 5 day trial, to see if joining is feasible. I can definitely tell if I keep that up, I'll be much healthier in no time. I must have sweated out at least a gallon of water. I'm serious. I was drenched, head to toe, with sweat. Even my towel was soaked.
I am so exhausted. I need to crash out for the night. More picture posts will be forthcoming when I can borrow a digital camera to actually TAKE the pictures. I don't have access to one right now.
Hoping that everything in each of your worlds is going quite well.
Goodnight
