Well, a great amount has happened since I last posted in this blog. I find that with a quick refresher course from Kat, I am better able to figure it out, so I think more posts are forthcoming.
I have decided that one of my goals for this summer is to learn to knit! Yes! Knit! I have my upstairs mostly set up for sewing, just a few other things needed to get it optimal. I will be setting aside time on Fridays and on Monday and Tuesday nights to sew. I promised myself that I would have everything set up and be working on the purses I am going to be making by mid May. Hopefully, if all goes well, I'll have about 4 designs ready to go, my patterns a bit more worked out, and some of my bags being conspicuously tested out around town with ladies who love the handmade stuff. I am going to get in contact with my savvy internet friend Courtney who will be hopefully doing some business stuff of her own soon, and have her help me design a logo and website. I have time set aside in the next two weeks to apply for my small business license.
In fact, this Friday, my day will go as follows:
Get up, do Yoga.
Sign up for a week of Bikram.
Pick up my recently deceased dog Bongo's ashes from the Vet.
Go to Whatcom and meet with a financial aid adviser.
Fill out paperwork needed to get me $ for school in fall.
Come home. Work in the yard if weather is nice.
Spend minimum of 3 hours in my craft room, working on my latest bag.
Plan out pattern for smaller version of bag and matching change purses.
Try headband pattern out on some old scraps.
Finish skirt, including hem.
Finish sewing cut out pair of Bloomers. Add trim.
Well, that's the plan, anyway. We'll see if it actually occurs.
*EDIT* This used to be a rant that was better suited for a private journal or email, so it's been sent that direction.
I've been really stressed at work lately, but I've talked to my bosses about it and they know what is going on. They dislike dissension and want things to change, so now that the situation has been addressed I'm hopeful things will get better in that arena.
Wow. I just realized how much I have to accomplish!
I am done now. I am going to bed. First I have to wake my husband up and send him to bed. He fell asleep in front of the fireplace on his stomach. He looks like a child when he sleeps, so peaceful and soft. I hate to wake him, but he IS snoring quite loudly and has drooled all over himself.
I love being married. No. Really. That's not sarcasm. If I can look at him in this moment and adore him absolutely, I made the right choice. Hasta, peanuts.

That was a lot to write out!
It's nice to read somewhere other than LJ. Honestly most of the time I don't really get who/what you're talking about over there because it has to be coded.
I love your crafty/yoga plans. It's inspiring.
If I had a list like that it would be:
finish final lesson plan for TESL Class
call caterer for wedding reception
Plan how many plates/cups to order for wedding
Shop for wedding ring
Make a list of who all is coming to wedding
check out free gym 4 blocks from house
and more... this makes it sound like there isn't going to be much of a wedding but I promise I'm getting to it. :) I"m so glad you will be there, I promise to try make it worth all the hassle.
big hugs,
k a t
