I needed my girls...

I only have a few minutes to update before I need to get some sleep.

I had a lovely quick dash trip to Seattle. Within minutes of arriving, Kat and I were on our way to a charity dinner where we got to get some handmade bowls donated by local artisans and have soup and locally made bread. Except we got there late, and all of the 400 bowls had been taken! We weren't discouraged, because our donation still went to a good cause. Well, a few minutes after we got there, we ran into some friends of Kat's who also happened to be artisans who donated pieces to the event. They invited us back to their lovely home afterward to pick out some pottery pieces they hadn't donated! In addition, they had a gorgeous 3 month old baby girl for us to hold and dance with and giggle at. We accompanied them back to their house after we'd had some soup, talked about crafting and other things while they showed us glass beads they had made (and gave some to us as well!) I really enjoyed their company, they were such sweet and giving people, and it was so nice to talk to other crafters! We headed back to Kat's, where her sister Stephie had her FIRST EVER victory at Catan! (I was even a very gracious loser. Ask Kat!) I made the household some of the bean cake patties that John and I are getting so good at making, and had some lovely chatting time.

This morning we went to breakfast at a restaurant in Ballard called "High Life" that is built in an old firehouse. It was beautiful and the food was delicious! Even better yet, Carly met up with us! (I am on an exclamation point kick!) I got to eat a rockin' meal with my two best girls (and Stephie, too) and then wander and hit the farmer's market and some cute shops. After that, it was walkin' back to Kat's, and after some knitting talk it was time for me to get on the road to home. Carly headed off to work on her own homework, and I drove back to the 'Ham with anxiety starting to mount about this week.

I have 3 tests this week and a 2000 word essay done. Our dissections are completely finished on Tuesday, and we're on to a new unit in Wednesday lecture. This week starts our next unknowns in Micro lab, Anatomy lab practical tests, and basically so much studying that I may not see the light of day until next Friday unless I'm looking at it through the windows at the Drop while I'm working or looking out the lab windows at the day I can't play in. I know that this weekend wasn't the best time to take a whole day out of my homework time, but I just couldn't do it anymore. I needed a break. I needed some space from Bellingham and from John and my pets and this quarter that is KILLING me. I have never had to work so hard at a series of classes to get a good grade. Good grades just come naturally to me when I actually do the homework. Before this, I never really even had to study much outside of getting the required homework done for almost every course I've taken in college so far. This is... brutal. Seriously brutal.

Well, I finished the English assignment due tonight, we dissected a cat for over 3 hours, and I got some dinner choked down after I got the image of separating large intramembranous adipose pads away from large muscles out of my head. (Shouldn't have typed that, my stomach just did a flip.) John is snoring next to me, and I am opening in the morning for Jonathan, so I should jet off to bed.

Thank you, my Seattle lovelies, for the short but very very needed trip, and for making every bit of time I get to spend with the both of you worth every precious second.

When I saw the subject I didn't think of Kat or Carly. I thought you were going to write and lovely post about your ladies a.k.a your breasts because sometimes you do need 'em.
