SCHOOL!

So, I've figured out that I'm a science nerd. I think I used to know this, a long time ago, but I am just now remembering it. I have enrolled in both Anatomy/Physiology and Microbiology for this quarter, and I am totally in love with both classes! They are going to be hard, for sure. (I've already spent about 20 hours studying in the first week and I'm not even done with the lab work yet.) However, I like the kind of hard that challenges my brain and makes me think. Plus, I am going to sew myself a really girly pink lab coat with huge turquioise buttons and a big 70's lapel. Seriously. I am. It's my next project in my sewing room. Well, after cleaning up my sewing room, of course.

I also got a lead this week on aprons, and on someone who might want some. I am going to head off to the Anatomy lab here in a little bit, to do some extra work and get ahead in my studies, and then I'll have more time free for the weekend to get some aprons whipped up and put together for a meeting in Fairhaven next week with a shop owner who wants to carry them! My friend, Christian Smith, was wearing this apron that I made for her during the Holiday market while she was out shopping last week. (Isn't she adorable?)

A shop owner at a kitchen store in Fairhaven went gaga over it, and asked her to contact me to see if I'd be interested in making aprons for them. I'm also going to go to talk to the Paper Doll and see if they would be interested, as some of my friends who know the owner told me they think she would love them, and one of the employees at the Downtown location told me the same thing.

So, possibly, selling locally made aprons in my future? We'll see.

It was hard to get anything done, lately, with all the ridiculous weather we've been having. First, there was the snow:

This is our strawberry pot, under all that. That was after round 2 of snowfall, I think. Did I tell you all that I got the truck stuck in our flippin' yard? Seriously. In the yard. Look.

I accidentally fell off the edge of the driveway when I was backing out. The driveway has about a 3 inch dropoff to the yard, which was all just mud underneath the snow. That dirt and mud spray? It's the hole I dug, spinning the tires into the ground while trying to get out. The truck is sunk so far down, the snow reaches the bumper in this picture.

Here is John, dutifully shoveling snow so that the tow truck could pull into our driveway. We had to use our AAA membership to winch us out. Seriously.

The only ones who seemed to really like the snow were the dogs. Not Dex, though. He hates the snow. Every picture we have of him, his back is arched and he's trying to shake snow off his feet. Bigby loved it, though! Look at this face!

In other news, I have pics of the booth for the Holiday Market!

I think it went pretty well. We both made a little profit, we got some good experience, and people had really good things to say about our stuff! Kat took this picture of Michele and I in front of our first ever joint business!

Michele is also working on our application for the Saturday Market. We'll need to get together soon to talk about what that is going to entail. And, you know, I have a crap ton of homework and there are always things to do around here. I also need to save up and then register for the Doula course that is being offered in April at the Seattle Midwifery School, and then the Childbirth Educator Course that is being offered in Lake Stevens in May. I have to have both of those things done by the time I register.

Stuff is always spinning.

Well, speaking of stuff continually movin', I need to get movin' to the Anatomy Lab to get some homework done.
