I've been sick forever

Maybe not forever, but it really feels like it.

School is coming to a close for the quarter, and I couldn't be happier about it. I'm behind in Spanish (tough to go to class when you're sick for 4 freaking weeks), touch and go in Math (not my best subject, especially, again, when I can't make it to class) and I finally kicked my psych class in the ass. The online quarter ends two weeks before regular quarter, so while I'm getting ready to head into finals week next week in Spanish and Math, all my psych stuff was due last Wednesday. Since (again) I've been sick for the last month, and things have been insane here at the house (one of our upstairs roommates tried to commit suicide and then when we booted her out - at her girlfriend's request due to the threats she was making - there was a week of drama that culminated in the other girl stiffing us for all past utilities and rent for the month, leaving us with a trashed room and no forwarding address) I was understandably behind in my psych obligations. I knuckled down, took 6 tests, did 3 discussion questions, 2 papers, and a project. I got it all done, I got full credit, and I pulled an A out of the class! Booyah!

So, now that we're done with psych, and gearing up to be done for the rest of the quarter, I'll be able to take my spring break to MOVE! YES, MOVE! John and I rented a house on the other side of town, small and cute and just ours. No roommates. Ever again. Ever.

The house is small and brick and built in the 30's. It has an electric blue kitchen and a yellow living room, and I get to paint my bedroom green and pink. I have MORE space for my craft room than I did at this house, and with the giant cabinets built into the walls, I have more out of the way storage space for all my supplies. I am stoked. Stoked. Seriously.

We also hired 2 new people at work, and these next few months will be training heavy, but hopefully in a couple of months we'll have people that can really be what the shop needs, and I'm excited about this prospect.

Now, some pictures!

Last weekend, we got to go out on the boat with Mamma and LCRP

This is the plaque Trish had made for Richie Poo for Christmas the year before last

This is the view from the wheelhouse, staring across the choppy waters of Bellingham Bay. It was none too pleasant.

John was holding on for balance and feeling a bit feisty, I must say

This is the "Miss Alice", which was Richard's old boat before he sold her to help buy "Diligence". He lived aboard this cute little sailboat when Trish met him. He still dreams of living aboard Diligence, someday. Trish isn't havin' it. Ironically, the slip she is moored in right now in Anacortes is nose to nose with the Diligence.

The Diligence, after all her screens and window covers have been put on and she's been given a bit of a rinse.

My family, pretty much daring me to take the picture. Don't they know that's not threatening? I did it anyway. Mamma is gonna kill me when she sees these online.

Next up, pics of our new house!
