I feel like falling behind on my blogging and my crafting are going hand in hand these days. To be honest, I love the sun and the smell hot grass, but I'll be glad for my own productivity's sake when fall comes.
I have several new gadgets as of late! I am now enrolled in Whatcom CC for fall quarter, and I am a FULL TIME STUDENT for the first time in 10 years. I am looking forward to my classes, and can't wait till the first day.
Most of my classes are online, so to this end, my fantastic husband picked me out and authorized purchase of a brand new laptop. It's from HP and it's beautiful and shiny and fast and it's all mine. John has been instructed to only touch it when I ask him to, and other than that to leave it the hell alone. He bought me a laptop bag and a nice wireless mouse as well, and now that it's all set up I'm really loving it.
My birthday is coming up, next Tuesday, in fact, and for an early birthday present (mostly because it was on sale for $50 less than the original price) John bought me a digital camera! I needed one so I can take pictures of my pieces, assuming I can ever make anything again.
My fantastic mother in law, Trish, bought my birthday present early as well. She purchased all my shelves for my sewing room, and the bins to organize things, so I might be able to get up there and finally get things clean enough to actually produce something.
I know, I know. It's a lot of excuses. Quite honestly, it's been a hard summer. John and I have been expending most of our extra energy on our marriage and on family issues. I haven't had a long and solid bit of time to be up there putting things together with someone who will help me get it all set up. Every time it seems like we have a minute free, something seems to explode or come up or we just don't have the energy to do it. It doesn't help that it is roughly the same temperature as the seventh level of Hell up there most of the time, either. John keeps saying he'll help me out, but really what happens is that he starts playing the Wii or WOW on his computer, and I don't see him until it's time to go to sleep.
Today, John and I are starting Couch to 5k, a running plan that will get us running and get us into shape. I am tired of feeling so lethargic. I loved my Bikram Yoga, and I wanted to continue it, but when I'm trying to pay off our debt and I'm working so hard at getting tuition paid, I just can't justify the $100 a month it would cost me. So, this will get us out and get us moving and also get the dogs moving, which will help everyone. I think after the first week, we'll be using his discount to join the gym down the street, so we can do strength training on the days that we don't run. He gets off work at 7:45, and when he gets home we're heading to the trail.
Dexter is driving me crazy. He can't stay still, even for a second. He yells at me to let me know he's mad. He tries to eat Noel's collar. He tried to eat Wyatt earlier today. I don't know what to do with him.
Well, I think I'm going to go stretch over my excercize ball for a while, since my back is hurting pretty bad today. My goal for this evening is to get my Flickr accounts in order now that I paid for one, and combine the two different accounts I have into just the one big one, then post some pictures I have taken with my new camera. We'll see if that gets accomplished.
Hasta, peanuts.

Hey Kiddo,
You will get on the boat some day. I know it. Sometimes the shit we all do gets in the way.
Happy BD early.
