I fell asleep at my sewing machine last night.
I will be glad when this event is over and done with. I forgot to eat yesterday, my stomach is trying to remind me as I sit here. John feels like he hasn't seen me in over a week, and to be fair, I feel like it's been about that long since I've seen me, too! I tried to explain to him last night what I am going to need by way of support from him during this process. It's true that right now I've been working at a fever pitch to get things done, but when the business really gets up and running, it is quite likely that I will be spending about the same amount of time each week in the sewing room. I explained that if he misses me and wants to spend time with me, he should try to find some activity he can partake in while sharing that space with me. He understands, but he is easily bored, and there is no where comfortable to lounge in that room. The space needs a major overhaul in usage area and furniture that we can't afford right now. We need a comfortable futon up there, and either my old TV or John's old TV set up in the corner. I agree that for me to want to spend time in there, I need to have some kind of distraction, something that makes the time pass a bit easier than just music. He said he'll do some research on Craigslist to see what we can find for cheap, and we'll keep our eyes peeled in the next month, and that he'll be pondering other things he can do to help me and support me in this venture so that our marriage isn't suffering from neglect.
Courtney came over last night and we got the logo saved in a format so that the detail shows, we made business cards I can use as tags for my merchandise, we purchased my domain name and started my hosting! As of tomorrow or so, www.hellshandbasket.com will be up! Primarily, it will have an under construction sign with instructions to check back in late July, a craft blog detailing what I'm working on for the business, and links to my ETSY site once I set that up at the end of the weekend, along with contact info for me!
I AM SO EXCITED! This process is really fun with Courtney, who is smart and quick to figure out what I'm asking for, even though sometimes I don't articulate it well. I realized as we were messing around with the domain name last night that I couldn't have made a better choice to help me in this endeavor. Court is intelligent and funny, motivated and organized, and she really honestly is excited about what I'm doing. I am looking forward to moving through this process with her, the prospects are rolling around and around in my brain, almost too fast to sort!
Okay, back to sewing.
I have so much to do today and tomorrow before work. At least tomorrow I have John to help me, since he's off all day.
I finished a third wallet and another slip dress last night. I will post pics before work today if I have time, if not, they'll come tonight.
John and I have been watching "Cowboy BeBop" on his laptop at night while I sew. I really like it, surprisingly. I usually am not a fan of the anime! This is basically "Firefly" in cartoon form, though. Even some of the music is similar!
I need to go back to sewing, since I'm up and about. I know, I know. My life is ridiculously exciting.
